Woodland Healthcare Auxiliary

Woodland Healthcare's Auxiliary volunteers play an integral role in the delivery
of patient and family services at Woodland Memorial Hospital. Auxiliary
volunteers operate the hospital Gift Shop and Information Desk. They assist with patients and their families in several departments throughout the hospital, knit blankets and caps for newborns, conduct and support fund-raising activities and health screenings, and perform other very important functions that support the mission of Woodland Healthcare to improve the health of our patients and community through outstanding care and service. Placement depends on each individual's interests and skills and the current needs of Woodland Healthcare.

Over the years, the men and women of the Woodland Healthcare Auxiliary have donated thousands of dollars in equipment to the hospital and clinic. Equipment donations have included Lifeline units, whirlpool baths, newborn monitors, birthing beds, television equipment and eight much-needed automatic external
defibrillator (AED) machines.

There are two ways to support the Auxiliary:

  • Active members are those who agree to provide a minimum of 36 volunteer service hours each year
  • Associate members are those who do not participate actively, but who are interested in the purpose of and support the Auxiliary through their annual membership fee

How to join the Woodland Healthcare Auxiliary
The process for joining the Auxiliary begins with completing an volunteer application form. Volunteers undergo a criminal background check and health screening, as well as an orientation and training class related to confidentiality, safety and job responsibilities.
