Woodland Healthcare’s YADHC receives grant funds

The City of Woodland provided $67,101 in Community Development Block Grant Funds to improve transportation services and fund much-needed building improvements at the Yolo Adult Day Health Center. The funds helped augment transportation services of frail adults to and from their homes to the Center. Much-needed repairs to the front driveway and entrance, the roof and the back walkway may now be completed thanks to the Block Grant Funds.

“After 26 years, the building showed wear and posed safety hazards for the frail clientele who attend the Center. With the City’s support, along with project management provided by Yolo County, these repairs will be completed,” says Dawn Purkey, Program Manager.

Woodland Healthcare’s Yolo Adult Day Health Center serves more than 100 patients each year with additional support offered to over 200 caregivers county-wide. Program services include medical monitoring, physical, occupational and speech therapies, social services, socialization and specialized dementia care. All services are Center-based with transportation provided to and from each patients home.
