Full Field Digital Mammography
Woodland Healthcare is proud to offer Full Field Digital Mammography - the latest in mammography technology - for improved detection, increased patient comfort and convenience. Digital mammography captures x-ray images through a computer rather than on x-ray film. Images are available immediately - no more waiting for film developing. Image quality can be enhanced, and views of specific areas of the breast can be magnified, optimizing the physician's ability to read the images.
Computer Aided Detection (CAD)
Our new system utilizes Computer Aided Detection (CAD), and has the ability to assist radiologists in detecting cancers at the earliest stages possible. Digital images can be stored as electronic patient records, making them easier to retrieve and send to specialists for evaluation. Digital mammography services are administered by a staff committed to providing service excellence and satisfaction.
Ultrasound
This modality utilizes sound waves to produce images of the breast. The echoes from the hand held transducer bounce back from the tissue providing us with images that our Radiologist interpret.
Biopsy Procedures
A biopsy may be required if your mammogram or ultrasound (sonogram) shows an abnormality or if you have a suspicious lump. A biopsy is the removal of all or part of a lesion for examination under the microscope.
Stereotactic Core Breast Biopsy
A minimally invasive image guided procedure that helps physicians locate breast abnormalities and obtain tissue for diagnosis and interpretation.
Breast Self-Examination
Individual private instruction is available at Woodland Healthcare to teach women how to examine their breast on a regular basis, how to be comfortable with the normal look and feel of the skin, breast tissue and nipple, and how to identify lumps and other significant changes.
