Woodland Healthcare's Strike Out Stroke team, led by neurologist Halima Karim, MD, is dedicated to not only offering the latest advances in stroke treatment for patients brought to our hospital, but also to educating members of our community about the signs, symptoms and preventive measures which can help lessen the chance of stroke and its long-term effects.
Plan to join us Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Woodland Healthcare's new Medical Office Building parking lot, 632 W. Gibson Road, Woodland. We will be offering free education, health screenings and a variety of health-related activities, including:
- 1 mile "Stroll for Stroke Awareness" (9 to10 a.m.)
- Health Screenings - Blood Pressue, Body Fat, Cholesterol
- Stroke treatment and prevention information
- Stroke support groups
- Healthy nutrition tips/recipes
"Stroll for Stroke Awareness"
Woodland Healthcare will host its second annyal "Stroll for Stroke Awareness" community walk to honor stroke survivors, family and friends on Saturday, May 17 from 9 to 10 a.m. We invite you to join us to walk this one - mile loop that will follow West Gibson to County Road 98 and back. Afterwards, please join us for Woodland Healthcare's new Medical Office Community Grand Opening event including our Stroke Awareness and Wellness Fair.
Registration deadline for the walk is Monday, May 5 and the fee is $10 per participant/walker, which includes a T-shirt. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Woodland Healthcare Foundation. For more information, please call (530) 669-5356.
