Caring for Those Suffering From Mental Illness

Woodland Healthcare offers a wide variety of services to help people suffering from emotional or psychological disorders. Often, the stigma of mental illness makes people reluctant to seek help. Yet, Woodland Healthcare is leading the way with new therapies, medicines and technologies that are helping people everyday.

Inpatient Services

Inpatient psychiatric care has been provided at Woodland Memorial Hospital since 1969. In a comfortable, home-like environment, patients receive individualized care focused on their special needs. Upon admission, each patient is assigned to one registered nurse who coordinates that patient's care throughout his or her stay. This nurse also coordinates the patient's plans for discharge to assure a smooth transition. The inpatient program includes milieu therapy, one-to-one therapy and various group therapy modalities, as well as individualized activity programs. Because the mental health unit is located within Woodland Memorial Hospital, patients also have immediate access to a full range of medical services.

Admission and Referral

Admissions to the inpatient mental health unit are accepted 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Physicians with privileges at Woodland Memorial Hospital may admit patients directly or arrange the admission through the psychiatrist on call. Woodland Healthcare also accepts and provides assistance with involuntary admissions.
