Cancer Center
Backed by the Mercy Cancer Institute, our team of board certified medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists and cancer specialists are all supported by specially-trained cancer professionals including infusion therapy, home health and hospice nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists and palliative care specialists. They work closely to maximize effectiveness in treating even the most complex cases.
We offer the latest in radiological and nuclear technology necessary for screening and early detection, including current advances in PET scan technology, with radiologists, laboratory and complementary care services on-site. Our multidisciplinary team approach to care includes diagnostic, treatment and support services to ensure the best treatment plan for cancer patients.
Weekly Tumor Board and Breast Conference meetings allow physicians and staff to review patient cases and reach consensus on treatment recommendations.
Services provided in the Hematology and Oncology Department includes:
- Evaluation and treatment of anemia
- Diagnosis and treatment of cancer
- Evaluation and treatment of clotting disorders
- Outpatient blood transfusions and cancer treatment therapies
- Infusion Center for outpatient intravenous therapy
- Patient education and cancer support groups

Neurosciences Center
Woodland Healthcare’s Neuroscience Center delivers both experience and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, brain tumor, migraine, Alzheimer’s disease, spine disease and neuromuscular and peripheral nerve disorders.
The Woodland Healthcare Stroke Center has been designated a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission, meaning a dedicated team of neurologists, nurses, physical therapists and other caregivers ensure rapid stroke response and follow up.
As part of the Mercy Neurological Institute of Greater Sacramento, Woodland Healthcare’s Neurosciences Center has access to the latest treatments and ongoing research.
Sleep Disorders Center
Board Certified in Sleep Medicine, professionals at the Woodland Healthcare Sleep Disorders Center work with each patient to diagnose sleep disorders including Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome, Primary Snoring, Restless Leg Syndrome and Periodic Limb Movements of Sleep, Insomnia, as well as Narcolepsy and Parasomnia and provide appropriate treatments. In-depth sleep disorder evaluation may require all night polysomnography (sleep study). Accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine since 1991, the Sleep Disorders Center offers the latest digital technology in an expanded four- bed unit mimicking a quiet hotel-like setting.
